About me and my approach.
I am a Senior Accredited Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP) as of May 2021, and have been an Accredited Member since 2007.
I work accordingly to the BACP Code of Ethics. I trained in Leeds Metropolitan University with a Diploma (HE) in Therapeutic Counselling.
I have worked as a therapist since 2002 in various counselling centres, for several Employee Assistance Programmes and in my private practice.
I use mainly psychodynamic approach in my work. This means that I try to help clients understand their feelings and behavior patters
by looking and making links with their previous experiences. I believe this approach helps people to connect deeply with their inner selves.
It releases many feelings from the past that may still affect their lives in the present. I also include elements of CBT and Gestalt therapy
in my work depending on clients' needs. My work is regularly supervised and I often attend professional development seminars and workshops.
I have extensive multicultural experience, which helps me to understand people from different backgrounds.
I also have BA and MA Degrees in Sociology and Cultural Studies.
Our work would be confidential and could be long or short-term depending on individual needs. An initial consultation will help us decide what
kind of therapy would be right for you. After that therapy usually runs on a weekly basis at agreed time.
